Job summary

L.A. Hydro-Jet & Rooter Service is seeking a Repair Estimator to appraise sewer repair projects, prepare estimates, and support planning and scheduling in the Repair Department.

The role blends hands-on plumbing knowledge with customer-facing communication and leadership to guide others and ensure code compliance. Compensation includes $27/hour plus 2.2% commission with total earnings potential of $75,000–$100,000+ annually, plus a benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; plumbing apprenticeship preferred.
• 1+ years of plumbing experience.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing methods, codes, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints, sketches, and specifications.
• Comfortable working in outdoor conditions and around mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in the planning, estimating, and scheduling of plumbing repair projects.
• Prepare estimates by gathering blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
• Conduct inspections of potential projects, identify labor/material/time requirements, and compute costs.
• Oversee and assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of sewer lines, valves, sump pumps, toilets, and fixtures.
• Train, guide, and provide work direction to repair team members; ensure safety and quality compliance.
• Maintain records, prepare reports, and communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and property managers.
• Ensure all work complies with plumbing codes, safety standards, and company procedures.
