Job summary

L.A. Hydro-Jet and Rooter Service seeks a Repair Estimator to appraise sewer repairs, prepare estimates, and support planning for plumbing projects. You will train others, ensure safety and codes compliance, and deliver accurate cost estimates.

The role involves leading planning and scheduling, reading blueprints, and coordinating with customers and vendors to ensure successful project execution.

Job description

As a Repair Estimator for L.A. Hydro-Jet & Rooter Services, you will be responsible for appraising and determining the value of sewer repairs, preparing estimates, and supporting the Repair Department in planning, scheduling, and completing plumbing projects. This role combines hands‑on technical knowledge with customer‑facing communication and requires the ability to train and guide others, ensure compliance with safety and building codes, and deliver accurate cost estimates.

• Well stablished company with over 30 Years in the plumbing business.
• Commission (2.2% of sold estimates).
• Dispatched from home daily. Company work truck and required equipment provided.
• Promote from within culture, with over 90% of our leadership positions filled from internal promotions.
• Lead and participate in the planning, estimating, and scheduling of plumbing Drain repair projects.
• Prepare estimates by gathering blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
• Conduct diagnostics/camera/locating inspections of potential projects, identify labor/material/time requirements, and compute costs.
• Oversee and assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of sewer lines, valves, sump pumps, toilets, and fixtures.
• Train, guide, and provide work direction to repair team members; ensure safety and quality compliance.
• Maintain records, prepare reports, and communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and property managers.
• Ensure all work complies with plumbing codes, safety standards, and company procedures.

WHAT SETS YOU APART:

• Experience in plumbing camera/locating operation.
• 5+ years of plumbing experience.
• Knowledge of plumbing methods, codes, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints, sketches, and specifications.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Physically able to kneel, crouch, climb, and work in varied environments.
• Comfortable working in outdoor conditions and around mechanical equipment.
• High school diploma or GED required; completion of a plumbing apprenticeship preferred.

L.A. Hydro-Jet and Rooter Service determines compensation based on the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. Total earning potential: $75,000 – $100,000+ annually. Pay is based on a number of factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
