BCH Mechanical, L.L.C. is hiring a Plumbing Superintendent for Largo, FL. The successful candidate will lead field teams, manage schedules, and ensure safety and quality across projects in the Tampa Bay market.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as Plumbing Superintendent, preferably with a commercial mechanical contractor.
• Proven leadership and supervision of multiple ongoing projects.
• Excellent safety and field management capabilities.
• Ability to travel within the Tampa Bay area.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all tradesmen are well qualified and perform duties efficiently.
• Review job schedules, estimate hours, and material takeoffs.
• Resolve differences with the Project Manager at job start.
• Set up job offices and ensure permits and safety postings are in place.
• Enforce safety rules and conduct safety meetings.
• Maintain project plans, schedules, and cost tracking.
• Manage client relationships and communicate with teams.
• Possess a valid driving license and willingness to travel Tampa Bay.
• Attend technical meetings and assist inspectors as needed.
• Maintain quality control and up-to-date as-built plans.

What you will be doing:

• Ascertaining that all tradesmen are well qualified and are efficiently carrying out duties assigned.
• Reviewing the job schedule, and estimated man hours, material take offs, etc.
• Resolving all differences of opinion with Project Manager at the beginning of the job.
• Setting up the job office and equipment trailers and seeing that permits, labor notices, safety rules and regulations and E.E.O.C. material are posted in a conspicuous place.
• Seeing that safety regulations are followed by tradesmen, including subcontractor crews. Safety meetings must be adequately attended.
• Having a thorough knowledge of the plans and specifications for each project assigned.
• Maintaining a high standard of quality control at all times.
• Keeping the progress schedule current, reviewing schedule status and job costs on an ongoing basis.
• Maintaining inventory control over tools and equipment, ascertaining that moveable tools are returned to the tool area and all other equipment adequately secured.
• Insuring that all as-built plans are accurate and up to date.
• Client management skills; ability to manage customer relationships, perceptions and expectations
• Ability to communicate effectively and deal diplomatically with coworkers other tradesmen.
• Possess a valid driving license and willing to travel throughout Tampa Bay market
• Maintain a positive attitude and willing to work in a team environment.
• Assisting inspectors on their project reviews.
• Attending on request, all technical meetings for the purpose of discussing job progress and problem areas.
• Practice good safety habits. Follow instructions and meet set standards.

What you need for this position:

• 5+ years as a Plumbing Superintendent, preferable with a commercial mechanical contractor specializing in heavy commercial projects (hotels, high-rise buildings, hospitals, schools, etc.)
• Proven leadership and supervisory skills with responsibility of managing numerous. Superintendents with projects that are ongoing simultaneously.
• OSHA 10 or 30 preferred
