• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or related field is required.

• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit or similar tools for design and calculations.
• EIT/PE licensure is a plus.

Responsibilities

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Plumbing Engineer role based in Irvine, CA. The Plumbing Engineer will design and develop plumbing systems for a variety of building types, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects, in coordination with structural and MEP teams. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing calculations, layouts, and specifications for water supply, drainage, venting, and fire protection systems, as well as ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. The role involves reviewing construction documents, responding to RFIs, supporting permit submittals, and providing technical support during construction. The Plumbing Engineer will collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to deliver cost-effective, energy-efficient, and reliable building services solutions. Salary range $50,000 - $70,000.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Plumbing and Plumbing Design for residential, commercial, and mixed-use buildings.
• Experience with Water Supply and Building Services systems, including drainage, venting, and fire protection.
• Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) coordination and integration within building projects.
• Proficiency with relevant engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools) and hydraulic calculation methods.
• Understanding of local and national plumbing codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., UPC, IPC, NFPA).
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field; professional licensure (EIT/PE) is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and collaborate effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
• Experience with California building codes and prior work in an engineering consulting environment is beneficial.
