We’re looking for a Plumbing Design Engineer to join our Engineering team as a hands-on technical leader. This is a role for someone who doesn’t just want to produce drawings—but wants to see their designs installed, commissioned, and operating in the real world.

You’ll take ownership of plumbing design from concept through construction, partnering closely with Project Managers and field teams to deliver practical, buildable, high-quality solutions.

What You’ll Do

Own the Design

• Lead plumbing system design from basis-of-design through permit and IFC deliverables
• Select systems, size equipment, and define design strategies
• Deliver core plumbing systems: sanitary, vent, domestic water, storm, gas, and more
• Design specialty/process systems (e.g., CDA, vacuum, RO/DI, lab waste, compressed gases)

Drive Quality & Standards

• Lead QA/QC across all project milestones
• Ensure code compliance (CPC, local AHJ, Title 24/CALGreen where applicable)
• Improve internal standards, templates, and design consistency
• Partner with Project Managers, clients, and contractors on system solutions
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, and trade partners
• Conduct field surveys and support construction (RFIs, submittals, design clarifications)
• Translate real-world requirements into clear, buildable documents
• Guide and support junior engineers through hands-on project work
• Elevate team performance, training, and technical standards
• Act as a trusted technical resource across projects

What You Bring

• 7–10 years of commercial plumbing design experience
• Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and construction practices
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit preferred)
• PE license preferred, not required
• Experience with a mechanical contractor or consulting firm is a plus
• Strong communication skills and ownership mindset
