Edinburg CISD seeks a Plumber in the Maintenance & Operations Department responsible for operation and maintenance of all plumbing systems.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, journeyman license (or irrigation license/5 years plumbing experience), the ability to read blueprints, a valid driver's license, and adherence to safety standards. The job offers 261 workdays per year and an hourly wage range.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman's license required; may be substituted for irrigation license and/or 5 years plumbing experience.
  • Able to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all plumbing systems in good working condition.
  • Performs services needed for plumbing such as repairing water leaks, repairing or replacing pipes, equipment, or fixtures.
  • Makes minor installations as directed by supervisor.
  • Maintains heating equipment in compliance with all Federal-State Commission and Insurance requirements.
  • Performs irrigation duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

LENGTH OF WORK YEAR:261days PAY GRADE: Hourly

WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Non-Exempt SALARY RANGE: $19.20 Min $27.35 Max

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Plumber is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all plumbing systems as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Graduate or GED required

Journeyman's license required; may be substituted for irrigation license and or 5years plumbing experience

Able to read blueprints and schematics

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable

  • Maintain all plumbing systems in good working condition.

EQUIPMFNT USED:

  • Districit vehicle, two-way radio, baekhoe, trenching machine, rooter rotor, electric hand tools, and soldering torch .

  • Frequent district travel, strenuous bending, climbing, and walking, working in extreme weather conditions, working on slippery uneven surfaces, and exposure to toxic fumes and chemicals
