Job summary
Hydro Extrusions USA, LLC is seeking a skilled Controls & Automation Technician in North Liberty, IN to program, troubleshoot and maintain PLC-controlled equipment. You will work with ladder logic, Allen Bradley Studio 5000, and HMI tools to support production and reliability initiatives.
The role requires hands-on PLC experience, collaboration with engineering, and mentoring junior techs, with a focus on equipment uptime and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years hands-on experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and support.
- Ability to modify, troubleshoot, and validate PLC ladder logic for enhancements and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Program and configure PLC-controlled systems.
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC logic.
- Install, program, and troubleshoot PLC systems in industrial environments.
- Troubleshoot and repair PLC systems and components.
- Integrate PLCs with HMIs, sensors, and actuators.
- Collaborate with engineering on upgrades.
- Train junior technicians and provide technical support.
- Support continuous reliability improvement initiatives.
- Occasionally assist mechanical technicians (~30%).
- Respond to equipment breakdowns to restore operations.
