Job summary
Hydro in North Liberty, IN is seeking an experienced PLC technician to support maintenance and improvements of PLC-based control systems. You will program, troubleshoot, and optimize ladder logic, HMI interfaces, and networked PLCs in an industrial setting.
The role requires 3–5 years of hands-on experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with engineering on system upgrades. Shifts from 3pm to 11pm, with opportunities to train junior technicians.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years hands-on experience programming, troubleshooting and supporting PLC-controlled equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to modify, troubleshoot, and validate PLC ladder logic for improvements and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Program and safety-configure PLC-controlled systems.
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC logic (ladder, function block).
- Install, program, and troubleshoot PLC systems in industrial environments.
- Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled systems and related components.
- Integrate PLCs with HMIs, sensors, and actuators.
- Collaborate with engineering on system upgrades and improvements.
- Train junior technicians and provide technical support.
- Support Continuous Reliability Improvement (CRI) initiatives.
- Provide coverage for mechanical technicians ~30%.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns to restore operations.
