Job summary

Hydro is seeking a Maintenance PLC Programmer to join our Elkhart, IN facility on a rotating shift (6pm–6am). You will program, configure, and troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems, and collaborate with engineering on upgrades and reliability improvements.

The role requires 3–5 years of hands-on PLC experience, with familiarity in Allen-Bradley Logix/Studio 5000 and HMI integration. A multi-craft capability to support mechanical technicians ~30% is required, with opportunities for education

Qualifications

3–5 years hands-on experience programming, troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment.
Ability to independently modify and validate PLC ladder logic for equipment improvements and reliability.
Experience with installation, programming, and troubleshooting of PLCs in industrial environments.

Responsibilities

Perform intermediate programming and safety configuration of PLC-controlled systems.
Independently develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC logic using ladder logic and function block."
Independently perform installation, programming, and troubleshooting of PLC systems in industrial environments with minimal supervision.
Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled systems and related components.
Integrate PLCs with HMIs, sensors, and actuators.
Collaborate with engineering teams on system upgrades and improvements.
Train junior technicians and provide technical support.
Utilize predictive measures to enhance equipment reliability through CRI initiatives.
Implement and support continuous reliability improvement standards and practices.
This is a multi-craft role and may require ~30% mechanical support.
