Job summary
Norsk Hydro in North Liberty, IN is seeking a maintenance technician with PLC programming expertise to support and optimize PLC-controlled equipment and systems. You will independently configure, program, troubleshoot, and repair PLCs, and collaborate with engineering on upgrades to improve reliability and efficiency.
Candidate should have 3-5 years of hands-on experience, familiarity with Ladder logic, Allen-Bradley platforms, and FactoryTalk View.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years hands-on experience programming, troubleshooting and supporting PLC-controlled equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform intermediate programming and safety configuration of PLC-controlled systems.
- Independently develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC logic using ladder logic and function block.
- Install, program, and troubleshoot PLC systems in industrial environments with minimal supervision.
- Troubleshoot, repair PLC-controlled systems and related components.
- Integrate PLCs with HMIs, sensors, and actuators.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on system upgrades and improvements.
- Train junior technicians and provide technical support.
- Utilize predictive measures to enhance equipment reliability through CRI initiatives.
- Implement and support continuous reliability improvement standards and practices.
- Support mechanical technicians ~30% of the time.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns to restore operations.
