Job summary

Electrical Automation Services in Naperville, IL seeks a skilled on-site Controls Technician to install, program, and troubleshoot PLC/HMI systems. You will work 3rd shift with overtime and ensure safe operation of 480V equipment.

You will diagnose and repair packaging equipment in a manufacturing setting, maintain documentation, and collaborate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime. A High School Diploma and PLC experience are required.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and servo systems.
Ability to troubleshoot analog and digital controls in 480V, 3-phase power distribution systems.
Experience with electrical schematics and preventive maintenance.
Familiarity with packaging equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Knowledge of lockout/tagout and general safety procedures preferred.
Experience with communication protocols such as Profibus, serial and industrial Ethernet preferred.
Experience with computerized maintenance systems preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform installation, configuration and troubleshooting of PLC I/O modules and control wiring.
Program and modify PLC logic using ladder logic and HMIs.
Troubleshoot and diagnose Profibus, serial, and Ethernet communications.
Perform preventive maintenance on Laser Guided Vehicles, conveyors and production equipment.
Maintain and troubleshoot encoders and load cells; diagnose 480V power distribution issues.
Adhere to safety procedures including lockout/tagout and PPE.
