Clean Energy Fuels Corp is seeking a hands-on Automation Engineer in Newport Beach, CA. You will design and implement PLC/HMI programs for electro-mechanical systems, collaborate with engineering, and support field start-up and troubleshooting.

Ideal candidates have 6–9 years in automation, a Bachelor’s in Automation Engineering, and proven SCADA experience. Travel up to 20% may be required; there is a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and innovation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Automation Engineering or related field; 6–9 years of related experience or equivalent mix of education and experience.
4+ years of PLC and HMI design and programming for industrial equipment and machine control.
Experience using SCADA systems is required.

Responsibilities

Using control descriptions, I/O lists, electrical schematics, and drawings, creating PLC/HMI code for control of electro-mechanical systems.
Assist Field Commissioning and Service Technicians with start-up and troubleshooting of applied programming.
Develop electrical, instrumentation and controls products to satisfy customer specs and new business.
Create/review/modify electrical schematics, drawings, and I/O lists to ensure compliance with standards.
Support design and manufacturing of machine control systems.
Submit status reports on progress of assigned projects.
Develop UL and related technical documentation for review and submittal.
Participate in FAT, assembly, installation, and set-up activities to ensure conformance.
