Job summary

Reser’s is seeking a skilled PLC Controls Engineer to design, implement, and maintain Rockwell-based automation systems in a refrigerated processing environment. You will develop and modify PLC programs, build control cabinets, and collaborate with IT and operations to ensure reliable line performance.

You will also create diagnostic routines, maintain backups, and train maintenance staff while adhering to OSHA, ISO TS 16949, and ISO 14001 standards.

Qualifications

• Technical, trade, or engineering graduate with focus on industrial electrical or automation preferred.
• Experience with process controls, interlocking, automation controls, safety standards, and relay logic.
• Basic networking knowledge on Ethernet networks.
• Interpretation of schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&ID drawings for process equipment.
• Prior experience with Rockwell, Allen-Bradley automation equipment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with implementing SCADA systems for data collection and custom reporting.

Responsibilities

• Builds, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains PLC systems.
• Modifies programs for efficient operation of plant machinery.
• Designs and builds control cabinets for new or existing machinery.
• Collaborates with vendors, maintenance, and operations to design effective automated control systems.
• Trains maintenance personnel in corrective maintenance and installation of electronic equipment.
• Implements new control systems on existing systems migrating toward Rockwell platform.
• Creates self-diagnosis routines and alarms for easier troubleshooting.
• Manages system access, backups and data recovery.
