Job summary

Reser’s Fine Foods, Inc. seeks a skilled PLC/Automation Engineer to design, develop, and integrate PLC controllers and drive systems to support manufacturing operations.

You will build and modify control solutions, collaborate with maintenance and operations, and guide vendors on automated installations. Your role includes creating robust alarm and diagnostic routines, ensuring data backups, and advancing Rockwell-based platforms across plant lines.

Qualifications

• Technical or engineering graduate with focus on industrial electrical or automation.
• Experience with process controls, coordination of those controls, interlocking of those controls, automation controls, safety standards, and relay logic.
• Basic networking knowledge on Ethernet networks.
• Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&ID drawings for process equipment.
• Prior experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley automation equipment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with implementing SCADA systems for data collection and custom reporting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build, troubleshoot, repair and maintain PLC systems.
• Modify programs for efficient operation of plant machinery.
• Design and build control cabinets for new or existing machinery.
• Collaborate with machine vendors, maintenance, and operations to develop effective automated systems.
• Train maintenance personnel in corrective maintenance and installation.
• Implement new control systems on existing systems migrating toward Rockwell.
• Create self-diagnosis routines and alarms for easier troubleshooting.
• Establish protocols for system access, backups and data recovery.
• Work on systems including RSLogix 5000, Factory Talk View, motion/servo control, and various communications protocols.
• Coordinate with IT to ensure line serves are maintained.
• Maintain safety certifications and adhere to OSHA, ISO standards.
• Engage in other duties as assigned.
