Job summary

Reser's Fine Foods is seeking a qualified PLC Automation Engineer to design, troubleshoot, and optimize Rockwell-based control and drive systems for our manufacturing operations in North Carolina. You will build control cabinets, implement new systems, and work with IT and maintenance to ensure reliable production.

The role requires strong knowledge of Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, RSLogix 5000, FactoryTalk View and SCADA, plus safety and ISO standards.

Qualifications

• Technical, trade, or engineering graduate preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience with process controls, interlocking of controls, automation controls, safety standards, and relay logic.
• Basic networking knowledge on Ethernet networks.
• Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&ID drawings for process equipment.
• Prior experience with Rockwell, Allen-Bradley automation equipment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with implementing SCADA systems for data collection and custom reporting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Builds, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains PLC systems.
• Makes program modifications for efficient operation of plant machinery.
• Designs and builds control cabinets for new or existing machinery.
• Partners with machine vendors, maintenance, and operations to develop effective automated PLC control and drive systems.
• Provides direction and trains maintenance personnel in corrective maintenance and installation of electronic equipment.
• Implements new control systems on existing systems migrating toward the Rockwell platform.
• Creates self-diagnosis routines and alarms to simplify future troubleshooting.
• Establishes protocols and is responsible for system access, backups and data recovery.
• Works with Rockwell Software RSLogix 5000 and FactoryTalk View and related controls.
• Maintains safety certifications and adheres to OSHA, ISO TS 16949, ISO 14001 standards.
• Works independently without direct supervision.
