Job summary

CTC in Louisville, KY seeks an experienced maintenance technician with PLC expertise to review specs, install equipment, and drive improvements. You will partner with vendors to ensure safety, quality, and productivity while supporting kanban and training for NAMC teams.

Expect up to 50% travel (including international) and up to 30% overtime. A 2-year technical degree or equivalent maintenance experience is required, with strong reading of drawings and electrical knowledge.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of PLC programming/troubleshooting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs (Siemens/Omron/Mitsubishi/Allen-Bradley).
  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent work experience in maintenance.
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% (including international).
  • Overtime availability up to 30% when required.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Review equipment specs and design; identify improvements and conduct vendor buyoffs.
  • Install equipment and verify safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Investigate modifications and implement trials and adjustments.
  • Reduce costs/time by coordinating vendor pre-install safety and quality checks.
  • Oversee installation by vendor and support kanban processes.
  • Improve quality and productivity via online vehicle trials adjustments.
  • Verify quality with secondary methods (Torque checks, vacuum profiles).
  • Install, setup, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley programmable controllers.
  • Provide training to maintenance on new equipment.
  • Share SME knowledge with NAMC Maintenance and Production teams.

Job description

  • Review equipment specifications and design, identify improvements, conduct vendor buyoffs to confirm equipment functions,
  • Install equipment, verify safety, quality, and productivity of equipment.
  • Investigate to determine modification requirements. Implement modifications. Trial and adjust.
  • Lower cost and decrease project time by confirming safety, quality, and productivity of equipment at vendor, prior to installation. Minimize adjustment time during vehicle trials by performing quality trials at vendor.
  • Lower cost and decrease project time by overseeing installation by vendor, and facilitating kanban process.
  • Improve equipment quality and productivity by implementing adjustments, as identified during online vehicle trials.
  • Confirm quality results by secondary method (Torque check, vacuum profiles, etc)
  • Install, setup and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley program controllers
  • Provide training to Maintenance members on newly implemented equipment
  • Share Subject Matter Expert knowledge to local NAMC Maintenance and Production Members
  • Travel up to 50% at times.
What you bring
  • Strong PLC programming/troubleshooting ( Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi, or Allen Bradley)- 2 years
  • Comprehensive knowledge of PLC’s - 2 years
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Electrical circuits and Industrial controls- 2 years
  • 2 year technical degree or completion of trade school program (EET or Industrial Maintenance Technology) and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings
  • Ability to travel up to 50% at times. (Including International travel)
  • Ability to work up to 30% overtime when required.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40lbs on occasion
  • Ability to frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching on varying surfaces.
  • Manual dexterity to operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
  • Good vision and hand-eye coordination for detailed repairs.
  • Ability to work in various environments including hot, cold, or confined spaces
  • Stamina to perform repetitive tasks and work long shifts.
