Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications as approved by CCC Board of Governors and defined in the Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administrators in California Community Colleges handbook.
• Master’s or Master of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/performance OR Bachelor’s or Bachelor of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/performance AND Master’s in comparative literature, English, communication studies, speech, literature or humanities; OR the equivalent; OR California CC Teaching Credential.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic instruction to students through lecture, lab, or performance courses.
• Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study and lifelong learning resources.
• Observe and evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
• Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines and student learning outcomes.
• Maintain records of enrollment, attendance, progress, and reports on time.
• Evaluate and select instructional materials and ensure timely delivery.
• Revise and update course content in line with new theory and industry developments.
• Update syllabi and collaborate on measurable student performance indicators.
• May participate in curriculum and program development and attend meetings.
• May participate in articulation and matriculation activities.
• May provide work direction to others.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
