Under the dean's direction, instructors provide comprehensive classroom instruction to diverse students and may be employed up to 67% of a full-time assignment.

Qualifications

• Candidates must possess the minimum qualifications for the discipline as approved by the California Community Colleges Board of Governors and defined in the Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administrators in California Community Colleges handbook.
• All coursework must be from a recognized accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive classroom instruction to students from diverse backgrounds.
• Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study and higher education resources; refer students to support services as appropriate.
• Observe and evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
• Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines and student learning outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records of enrollment, attendance, progress, and outcomes; submit related reports.
• Update syllabi and course content in alignment with new theory and industry developments.
• May participate in curriculum development, committees, and articulation activities.
