Job summary

City of Baltimore is seeking a Program Safety Inspector to plan and coordinate the Playground Safety Program within BCRP’s Bureau of Parks, Division of Park Maintenance/Turf Management/Playground Safety.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in program planning, supervision, or coordination, plus certifications and a valid Maryland driver’s license. Strong leadership and procurement skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Three (3) years of experience in planning, supervision, evaluation or coordination of a program or operation.
• Must be able to acquire Playground Inspection Certification and Playground Maintenance Certificate; valid Maryland driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Plans and coordinates Playground Program with inspections and audits.
• Directs use and maintenance of playground equipment and surfaces.
• Monitors procurement actions and tracks purchases; writes contracts and cost estimates.
• Oversees and trains crews and represents the department with outside organizations.
