Job summary

The City of Baltimore is seeking a Program Safety Inspector to coordinate the Playground Safety Program within BCRP’s Division of Park Maintenance. The role focuses on inspections, certifications, and ensuring safe playgrounds across city parks.

Responsibilities include budgeting, procurement, and coordinating with capital development. A bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience are required, with licenses and certifications to be obtained as noted.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; three years of experience in planning/supervision/evaluation or coordination.
• Must obtain Playground Inspection Certification and Playground Maintenance Certificate; valid Maryland driver's license.
• Proficiency with standard business software and grant/funding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate the Playground Program activities and inspections.
• Oversee procurement, contracts, and cost estimates for playground projects.
• Direct maintenance and safety of all playgrounds and related equipment.
• Lead budget development and seek grant opportunities for program funding.
• Represent the department to community groups and partners on playground safety.
