Job summary

The City of Baltimore is seeking a Program Safety Inspector to plan and coordinate the Playground Safety Program within BCRP. You will conduct inspections, oversee maintenance, and manage budgets and procurement for playground equipment and repairs.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant experience, plus certifications for playground inspection and maintenance and a Maryland driver’s license. The department emphasizes safety, grants, and community collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Three (3) years of experience in planning, supervision, evaluation or coordination of a program or business or operation.
• Must obtain Playground Inspection Certification and Playground Maintenance Certificate, and have a valid Maryland Driver’s License.
• Provisional driver’s licenses are not acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Plans and coordinates the Playground Safety Program and inspections.
• Directs proper use and care of playground equipment and maintenance activities.
• Monitors procurement actions and tracks purchases and contracts.
• Coordinates with Capital Development and other agencies on playground projects.
• Prepares program budget and seeks grant opportunities.
• Oversees training of crews and represents the department in community engagements.
