Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Georgia is seeking a Special Processes Specialist to lead plating and wastewater treatment operations. You will ensure process stability, environmental compliance, product quality, and operational excellence while partnering with manufacturing, quality, engineering, maintenance, and EHS teams.

The role drives continuous improvement, supports new equipment and product introductions, and develops training materials for operators and production personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Eng., Environmental Eng., Chemistry, or Materials Science.
• 5+ years in industrial plating, metal finishing, or related manufacturing operations.
• Experience troubleshooting chemical process systems in a manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of industrial wastewater treatment and environmental compliance requirements.
• Experience developing process documentation, operating procedures, and work instructions.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with root-cause analysis.
• Experience working cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and EHS.
• Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without sponsorship.
• Experience with regulatory requirements and environmental reporting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical owner for plating and wastewater treatment across the facility.
• Monitor and optimize process performance for consistent quality and throughput.
• Develop and maintain process specifications, SOPs, controls, and standard work.
• Support plating system operations: concentration control, bath maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting.
• Monitor wastewater treatment for compliance with standards and regulations.
• Analyze data to identify improvements and reduce process variation.
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for quality and environmental issues.
• Collaborate with quality on internal and customer concerns involving special processes.
• Work with EHS on handling, storage, treatment, and disposal of chemicals and waste.
• Support environmental permitting, inspections, and regulatory reporting.
• Coordinate with maintenance and suppliers to improve reliability and capability.
• Drive continuous improvement in quality, productivity, yield, and cost reduction.
• Assist installation, commissioning, validation of new equipment and technologies.
• Develop training materials and conduct operator training.
• Support new product introductions and ensure special process requirements are integrated.
• Maintain process documentation and technical records per regulatory requirements.
• Foster a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence.
