Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Platform Services Technical Lead to provide technical leadership for mission-critical applications, deploying and sustaining runtime capabilities for the NDOC D3P Modernization effort. The role emphasizes collaboration with government stakeholders and cross-functional teams to translate mission priorities into concrete software solutions.

Qualifications

BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10+ years of prior relevant experience.
Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
Hands-on experience administering Kubernetes in a production environment including cluster lifecycle, upgrades, RBAC, and troubleshooting.
Experience operating/maintaining platform services such as Elastic and Redis in production with version management, scaling, monitoring, and incident response.
Experience implementing platform security, least-privilege access, encryption at rest/in transit, audit logging, and secrets management.
Experience with observability: metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting, SLOs/SLIs, capacity monitoring.
Strong knowledge of Linux-based hosting, containers, container images, networking, DNS, TLS/certificates, and storage concepts.
Experience with automation/configuration tools such as CloudFormation, Helm, Salt, Ansible, or equivalent.
Strong written and verbal communication to translate risks and tradeoffs for technical/non-technical stakeholders.
Experience as a DevOps/Platform/Shared Services Technical Lead, Lead Systems Engineer, or similar, in an Agile SAFe program.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and direction for design, integration, deployment, and sustainment of NDOC's mission applications.
Collaborate with government stakeholders and engineers to translate mission requirements into actionable development plans.
Own and prioritize the team backlog and decompose features into well-defined user stories with acceptance criteria.
Guide design and implementation decisions ensuring alignment with architecture, security, and mission objectives.
Lead technical discussions, evaluate solutions, and resolve complex engineering challenges across apps, integration, and infrastructure.
Balance security, defects, sustainment, and technical debt to maintain platform stability.
Identify risks and impediments, coordinating with leadership to resolve delivery issues.
Drive PI objectives and sprint commitments; provide visibility into progress and risks.
Lead or support Agile/SAFe activities: backlog refinement, planning, reviews, retrospectives, PI Planning.
Promote engineering best practices: automated testing, CI/CD, IaC, monitoring, app security.
