Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Sr. Product Owner for a Bethesda-based role focused on NDOC mission applications. You will decompose high-priority requirements, drive design, integration, and testing, and manage a product backlog within an Agile team. Most work is on-site at the client location with occasional remote tasks.

You will lead a team, mentor engineers, and coordinate with government and contractor stakeholders to ensure timely, quality software deployments. A Top Secret/SCI is required.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field and 12 or more years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 or more years of prior relevant experience.
• Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility and ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Experience as a Technical Product Owner, Development Team Lead, Systems Engineer or similar role in an Agile software development team.
• Demonstrated ability to break down complex problems into actionable steps.
• Experience managing and prioritizing product backlogs effectively.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, and experience with Gitlab, Jira, and Confluence.
• Experience facilitating scrum events (Planning, Retrospective, Backlog Refinement).
• Excellent communication skills to articulate technical and non-technical concepts.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, design, and project management teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage expectations with government and contractor stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage, direct, coordinate, and provide technical direction for all aspects of NDOC’s mission applications.
• Provide technical support, coordination, and execution of systems engineering activities across design, implementation, integration, and testing.
• Take ownership of assigned portion of the task order’s product portfolio and manage programmatic relationships.
• Develop, manage and continually improve the backlog of work items for an Agile scrum team.
• Foster collaboration to deliver quality service and product to customers.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers on best practices and career growth.
