Avalara is seeking a Security Engineer to lead the design and implementation of security capabilities across its cloud platform. This role will enhance security architecture, improve developer productivity, and integrate zero-trust architecture principles.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant professional experience, including at least 5 years focused on cloud, infrastructure, or platform security.
• Deep expertise in cloud platform security across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or OCI environments.
• Expertise in identity and access management, network security, and vulnerability management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of secure-by-default platform capabilities.
• Drive adoption of zero-trust architecture principles across engineering environments.
• Provide technical leadership for Platform Security initiatives.
