Job summary

Penn State University is seeking a Micro-credential Platform Administrator to oversee the administration, configuration, and ongoing operation of the micro-credential platform and related systems, in support of stackable learning and credentialing workflows.

You will collaborate with academic units, vendors, and IT teams to translate business needs into effective system solutions, with emphasis on Canvas and related learning tools, data governance, and user support.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting a credentialing, badging, catalog, registration, or learning platform.
• Knowledge of micro-credentials and digital credentials, including how they support stackable learning.
• Familiarity with digital badging, credentialing metadata, verification workflows.
• Experience with business systems analysis, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, user support, and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience with integrations, APIs, single sign-on, data imports/exports, reporting tools, and workflow automation.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems such as Canvas, Cornerstone, and Canvas Catalog.
• Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze, and communicate business and functional requirements.
• Demonstrated collaboration, communication, customer service, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills across teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently on varied assignments.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day administration, configuration, and continuous improvement of the micro-credential platform and related systems.
• Serve as a primary liaison among academic units, program owners, vendors, and IT teams to gather, analyze, document, and validate requirements.
• Coordinate development, approval, launch, modification, and retirement of micro-credentials with campus partners.
• Oversee credential and badge issuance workflows, including enrollment, verification, and issuance.
• Monitor platform stability, access, data integrity, and dependencies; troubleshoot with partners.
• Support system implementations, upgrades, patches, testing cycles, and process improvements; develop guides.
• Provide consultation and ongoing support to faculty, staff, learners, and program administrators.
• Collect, analyze, and synthesize data for reporting, dashboards, and program evaluation.
