Job summary

Penn State IT in the United States is seeking a Micro-credential Platform Administrator (Business Systems Analyst - Intermediate Professional) to manage micro-credential workflows and related LMS platforms, including Canvas and Catalog integrations.

You will collaborate with academic units, vendors, and IT teams to translate needs into effective system solutions, oversee credential issuance, and drive data-driven improvements in a complex educational tech environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting a credentialing, badging, catalog, registration, or learning platform.
• Knowledge of micro-credentials and digital credentials and their role in stackable learning.
• Familiarity with digital badging, credential metadata, verification, and issuer/earner workflows.
• Experience with business systems analysis, requirements gathering, and testing on enterprise software.
• Experience with integrations, APIs, SSO, data imports/exports, reporting, and workflow automation.
• Experience with LMS such as Canvas, Cornerstone, and Canvas Catalog.
• Gathers, analyzes, and communicates business and functional requirements.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and customer service across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day administration, configuration, and continuous improvement of the micro-credential platform.
• Act as liaison among academic units, vendors, and IT teams to gather and validate requirements.
• Coordinate development, launch, modification, and retirement of micro-credentials with campus partners.
• Oversee credential and badge issuance workflows: enrollment, verification, and issuance.
• Monitor platform stability, user access, data integrity, and integrations; coordinate issue resolution.
• Support implementations, upgrades, patches, testing, and process improvements; develop docs and training materials.
• Provide consultation and ongoing support to faculty, staff, learners, and admins for effective platform use.
• Collect and analyze data to support reporting, dashboards, and program evaluation while ensuring governance standards.
