North is building the next-generation cloud, AI, and data spend management platform. We seek a Platform Engineering lead to shape and scale the foundational layer that enables all teams to build, ship, and run North’s products reliably.

You’ll manage engineers, drive technical depth, and push for continuous improvement. The role emphasizes delivering with guardrails, standardization, and strong collaboration with product and customer teams.

Formación

• 10+ years in software engineering, with 5+ years in people management.
• Deep backend, infra, or data systems experience to challenge designs.
• Strong writing and communication skills across orgs.
• Clear platform engineering POV: standardization, self-service, and guardrails.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and grow the Platform Engineering team, reporting to the VP of Engineering.
• Shape the growth of Platform Engineering from team to organization and hire managers.
• Treat the platform as a product with golden paths, shared patterns, and self-service tooling.
• Turn incidents and recurring questions into platform improvements across services.
• Hire for platform teams and help engineers ramp up quickly.
• Translate team plans into commitments and expose risks early.
• Ensure work starts from clear specs and durable designs, with reliable operations.
• Strengthen on-call, incident response, and observability practices.
• Collaborate with product, Product Engineering, and customer-facing teams to align work with customer value.
• Balance long-term platform investment with near-term needs, explaining tradeoffs.
