Job summary

Cisco's Enterprise Integrated Systems team seeks a Senior Platform Engineer to lead architecture across multiple products and drive scalable, reliable platform designs for enterprise customers.

You will mentor engineers, drive CI/CD and performance improvements, collaborate with product managers and architects, and own subsystems from design through production support and continuous improvement in a hybrid on-site/remote environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent with extensive software development experience.
• Proficient in Go and Python with production-grade delivery.
• Experience designing distributed systems, REST APIs, microservices, and Docker/Kubernetes containers.
• Strong CI/CD, Git, automated testing, performance benchmarking, and observability tooling.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, scalability, reliability, Linux internals, and performance engineering.
• Proven track record leading design discussions and influencing cross-team architectures.
• Demonstrated mentoring and technical leadership across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and implementation of platform capabilities across products and teams.
• Drive scalable, reusable software designs to improve quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, and Dev teams to shape technical roadmaps.
• Own critical subsystems from design through production support and continuous improvement.
• Promote engineering excellence via design/code reviews, testing, observability, CI/CD, and performance tuning.
• Mentor engineers and raise technical bar through guidance and leadership.
• Lead investigations, optimization, and root-cause analysis for complex issues.
• Evaluate new technologies and propose architectural improvements for scalability and security.
