Job summary

Cisco is seeking a senior platform engineer to join the Enterprise Integrated Systems team. You will architect and implement complex platform capabilities across multiple products, driving scalable, reusable designs and improving reliability and customer experiences.

You will mentor engineers, lead technical reviews, and collaborate with PMs, Architects, and development teams to shape roadmaps and deliver enterprise-scale solutions for on-premises and cloud deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in CS/CE or related field; 8+ years of relevant software experience.
• Masters in CS/CE with 6+ years of related experience.
• Proficient in Go and Python with production-ready software.
• Experience designing distributed systems, REST APIs, microservices.
• Docker and Kubernetes for containerized applications.
• CI/CD, Git, automated testing, and observability tooling.
• Strong Linux internals, performance tuning, and scalability.
• Leadership in design discussions across multiple teams.
• Mentoring and technical leadership across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and implementation of platform capabilities spanning multiple products and engineering teams.
• Drive scalable, reusable, and maintainable software designs that improve product quality, reliability, and customer experience.
• Partner with Product Managers, Architects, and Development teams to shape technical roadmaps and influence product direction.
• Own critical subsystems throughout their lifecycle—from design through production support and continuous improvement.
• Drive engineering excellence through design reviews, code reviews, automated testing, observability, CI/CD, and performance engineering.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar through coaching, design guidance, and technical leadership.
• Lead technical investigations, performance optimization, and root cause analysis for complex customer issues.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend architectural improvements that enhance scalability, security, and developer productivity.
