Job summary

Charles Schwab is seeking a Principal Cloud Architect to shape enterprise cloud and AI strategy and translate it into secure, scalable platforms. The role requires leading architecture workstreams across engineering, security, data, risk, and platform teams, and mentoring peers to raise architectural quality.

The ideal candidate brings deep GCP expertise with AWS/Azure experience, and a track record of production-grade AI solutions in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Current advanced certification in GCP, AWS, Azure, security, data, or AI is preferred.
• Experience designing enterprise cloud solutions in GCP or AWS with focus on compute, networking, identity, data, security, and platform operations.
• Experience delivering production-grade AI and generative AI solutions with lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture of secure, resilient, scalable enterprise cloud and AI solutions from strategy through production implementation and operational readiness.
• Oversee complex architecture workstreams, governance decisions, and cross-functional collaboration across engineering, security, data, risk, and operations.
• Mentor engineers and architects, producing reusable guidance to improve cloud and AI architecture quality and consistency.
• Translate business needs into reusable cloud and AI patterns, reference designs, and implementation guidance to reduce duplication and accelerate delivery.
