Job summary

PCI Energy Solutions in Norman, Oklahoma, is seeking a Platform Engineering Manager to lead and evolve scalable, secure software platforms while mentoring engineering teams in a hybrid work environment.

You will own planning and delivery of platform initiatives, design cloud-native solutions, manage Kubernetes clusters, GitOps workflows, CI/CD, and collaborate with product, design, operations, and security to align technical direction with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years designing, developing, and delivering software applications.
• Proven leadership of engineering teams and large-scale projects.
• Strong experience in platform engineering and building internal platforms.
• Kubernetes expertise with hands-on production cluster management.
• GitOps and modern software delivery pipelines experience.
• Docker and cloud-native architectures experience; AWS preferred.
• Strong Java and Python programming background; JS/others not referenced.
• Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers and platform specialists.
• Own planning, execution, and delivery of complex software and platform initiatives.
• Collaborate with product, design, operations, security, and leadership to set direction.
• Design, build, and evolve cloud-native platforms with reliability and security.
• Lead Kubernetes clusters management, GitOps, and modern deployment strategies.
• Drive adoption of CI/CD pipelines, source control, and developer tooling.
• Champion best practices across the SDLC using GitLab, JIRA, Confluence.
• Ensure high code quality and system reliability through reviews and standards.
• Design secure software solutions and promote security-first engineering.
• Manage team capacity, estimates, and milestones; communicate status clearly.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and developer experience.
• Foster continuous learning and operational ownership within the team.
