Job summary

Optomi, in partnership with a leading organization, is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer to join onsite in Cleveland, OH. The role centers on Kubernetes infrastructure, bridging architecture and engineering while establishing technical direction, maintaining platforms, and mentoring engineers.

The ideal candidate will lead POCs, define platform standards, and collaborate with architecture and engineering teams to deliver repeatable patterns and golden paths across cloud and on‑prem environments.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with Kubernetes infrastructure and cluster lifecycle management.
• Strong experience with container platforms and infrastructure.
• Lead-level experience setting technical direction and mentoring engineers.
• Experience troubleshooting Kubernetes and container environments.
• Ability to collaborate with architecture and engineering teams across cloud and on-prem environments.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and manage Kubernetes infrastructure and clusters.
• Partner with architecture teams to establish platform priorities and standards.
• Lead POCs and first implementations of new technologies.
• Establish repeatable platform patterns and golden paths.
• Influence enterprise container platform standards.
• Support cloud and on-premises container environments.
• Troubleshoot and improve platform infrastructure.
• Mentor junior engineers and support broader engineering initiatives.
