Job summary
Charles Schwab seeks a Senior Engineering Manager for Platform Engineering to lead the design, delivery, and operation of enterprise-grade, distributed systems across web, mobile, and API channels in a regulated financial services context.
You will own the platform roadmap, champion cloud modernization, and drive security, resilience, and governance while coaching a high-performing engineering team and collaborating with product, security, and operations to meet strict availability and
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
- 10+ years of people management experience leading engineering teams (often 10+ engineers).
- 10+ years of hands-on engineering on .Net platform in large enterprises.
- Experience defining strategy and influencing across the enterprise.
- Background supporting client-facing digital channels (web/mobile/API) where performance and reliability matter.
- Strong experience with modern software delivery practices (CI/CD) and operational ownership.
- Proven experience with cloud technologies and platform design patterns.
- Experience enabling AI/LLM-based solutions at scale.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of platform engineers, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and career development.
- Define and communicate a platform vision and road map.
- Guide architectural decisions and ensure platforms are scalable, secure, and compliant.
- Drive reliability, performance, and observability with incident postmortems and continuous improvement.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to enable cloud adoption and modernization.
- Lead cross-team coordination to manage dependencies and deliver on commitments.
