Job summary

MaintainX is seeking an Engineering Director to lead Platform Engineering, overseeing AI Builder, DevOps, Compliance, Testing Frameworks, Backend/Mobile Frameworks, and SRE. This is a manager-of-managers role to define how a high-growth engineering org operates at scale and to own the platform roadmap and operating model.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering, with 5+ years in engineering leadership.
• 2+ years managing managers across multiple teams.
• Strong communicator capable of presenting to executives.
• Experience with platform or infrastructure-focused teams at scale.
• Familiarity with AI-native platforms and LLM-enabled workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own the Platform Engineering roadmap and operating model.
• Lead and develop seven Software Development Managers across multiple teams.
• Set engineering standards, CI/CD health, and reliability targets.
• Drive AI-native platform strategy including AI Builder and agent orchestration.
• Own division-level reliability and incident response frameworks.
• Partner with the CTO and other engineering leaders on org design and headcount.
• Represent Platform Engineering to business partners and executives.
