Job summary

MaintainX, now part of Autodesk, seeks an Engineering Director to lead Platform Engineering. You will own the roadmap, set standards, and drive the AI-native strategy across seven teams including AI Builder, DevOps, and SRE.

This is a manager-of-managers role at scale for a growth-stage B2B SaaS platform. You will partner with the CTO and other leaders to design the organization, ensure reliability, and communicate engineering priorities to executives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering with 5+ years in engineering leadership.
• 2+ years managing managers across multiple teams.
• Deep expertise in two or more areas: distributed systems, backend/mobile frameworks, platform engineering, or reliability engineering.
• Experience leading platform/infrastructure teams at a growth B2B SaaS company.
• AI-forward: guiding teams building on LLMs and agentic workflows.
• Systems thinker who removes bottlenecks and designs teams, not just manages them.
• Strong communicator to product, finance and executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the roadmap and operating model for Platform Engineering; translate business goals into multi-quarter investments.
• Lead and develop Software Development Managers across seven teams.
• Set engineering standards for framework conventions, reliability targets, and CI/CD health.
• Drive MaintainX's AI-native platform strategy and enable agent orchestration and developer environments.
• Own division-level reliability: SLOs, incident response, on-call health, and prevention pathways.
• Partner with the CTO and engineering leaders on org design, architecture, and headcount planning.
• Represent Platform Engineering to the business and translate infrastructure investment into velocity and trust.
• Lead platform engineering managers across multiple teams with expert English proficiency.
