Job summary

Nordic Semiconductor is seeking a Platform Engineer to build and scale the nRF Cloud platform. You will own pieces of the platform end-to-end, shipping production-grade code across Python, Kotlin, and TypeScript on AWS and Kubernetes, and instrumenting systems for reliability.

You will work with cross-functional teams to turn customer and business needs into concrete technical work, while maintaining strong observability, incident response, and clear documentation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proven ability to ship production code independently and own a feature end-to-end.
• Familiarity with AWS services (EKS, RDS, S3, EC2, ECS) and Kubernetes.
• Strong experience with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency in Python, Kotlin, and/or TypeScript for backend work.
• Experience with observability/monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Sentry).
• Clear written and verbal communication; team collaboration in a globally distributed setup.

Responsibilities

• Own platform components end-to-end, design, build, ship, and monitor systems for millions of IoT devices.
• Ship production-grade code across the stack (Python, Kotlin, TypeScript) on AWS/Kubernetes.
• Instrument systems, run experiments, and validate scaling, performance, and cost with data.
• Lead incident responses, root-cause analysis, and postmortems; participate in RFCs and technical docs.
• Collaborate with Product, SDK & Field Engineering, and Support to translate customer needs into technical work.
