Job summary

HireHi, a global algorithmic trading firm, seeks an experienced DevOps/DataOps professional to build and operate a Kubernetes-based data platform on EKS. You will automate deployments with GitLab CI/CD, run Airflow and Spark on Kubernetes, and optimize AWS infrastructure for data pipelines while ensuring security and governance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, IT Ops, or DataOps roles with hands-on data infrastructure.
• Experience with real-time data streaming, DBT, Project Nessie, and Apache Spark.
• Strong Kubernetes administration including provisioning, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Production experience on Amazon EKS and knowledge of AWS/Azure/GCP services.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, and Ansible scripting and automation.
• Experience with GitOps and ArgoCD, including Helm, app-of-apps, and drift debugging.
• Familiarity with Karpenter or Cluster Autoscaler and Linux performance tuning.
• Understanding of data governance concepts and secure data handling.
• Excellent communication and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
• English proficiency level at B2 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the Kubernetes data platform (EKS) including Terraform provisioning and autoscaling.
• Operate and scale Airflow on Kubernetes and Spark on EKS.
• Design and maintain AWS data infrastructure, S3 lifecycle/layout, VPC networking, and cost optimization.
• Automate deployment and CI/CD processes with GitLab CI/CD.
• Ensure security best practices for sensitive data handling and governance.
• Document systems, pipelines, and DevOps processes.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers to deploy data jobs and pipelines.
