Job summary

Pearson is modernizing its content platform with hands‑on leadership across UI, workflow orchestration, AI, and cloud services. You will design target systems, move content and users safely, and set standards for reliability and performance across teams.

We expect 12+ years of production software experience, including leadership across multiple domains, and deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, TypeScript, React, and AWS. This role emphasizes technical judgment and mentoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 12+ years building and operating production software, including 4+ years at staff or principal level, or as technical lead across several teams or a large multi‑service system.
• Led a re‑platforming or legacy migration of a production system with active users and data, through to switching off the old system.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical plan and delivery for multiple technology tracks from design through launch.
• Migrate large volumes of content and data with verification of integrity for downstream products.
• Build shared capabilities exposed through clean APIs and drive adoption across teams.
