Pearson is modernizing its content platform into shared services. You will be a principal engineer, hands‑on, shaping target systems and migrating content and users safely. Full stack here spans UI, workflow orchestration, AI, backend services, and cloud infrastructure.

This is a hands‑on engineering role across platforms; you will own designs and critical code paths, drive technical decisions, and mentor teams while addressing systemic problems that matter to leadership.

Qualifications

• 12+ years building and operating production software.
• 4+ years at staff or principal level or as technical lead across several teams.
• Led re-platforming or legacy migration of a production system with active users and data.
• Full-stack depth in core stack: Java/Spring Boot, Node.js/TypeScript, React with MongoDB and event-driven services.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical plan and delivery for multiple tracks from design through launch.
• Migrate large volumes of content and data with integrity.
• Provide shared capabilities via APIs across teams.
• Assess technical debt and set priorities with leadership.
• Serve as technical point of contact for incidents and disaster recovery planning.
• Ensure security and stability with upgrades, testing, and compliance.
