Job summary

Mesilla Valley Transportation in El Paso, TX is seeking a Platform Engineer II who will administer, automate, and secure the Fabric, Azure, and Azure DevOps platforms to deliver reliable, scalable services for the organization.

You will build CI/CD pipelines, IaC, monitoring, and deployment tooling, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with application and data teams to ensure strong performance and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, IT, or related field.
• 2–7 years in platform engineering, cloud engineering, DevOps, or related role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, or Microsoft Fabric; multi-platform experience preferred.
• Experience building CI/CD, IaC, monitoring, security, and deployment solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to resolve issues independently.
• Strong communication and collaboration; mentoring or leading small projects.

Responsibilities

• Administers and leads Azure, DevOps, Fabric platform services and establishes standards.
• Develops and implements CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automation, monitoring, alerting, and deployment solutions across data and development environments.
• Leads troubleshooting and resolution of complex platform, deployment, performance, security, connectivity, and capacity issues.
• Develops and executes plans to improve platform reliability, scalability, security, performance, cost, and developer productivity.
• Mentor Level I Engineers, guiding best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
• Collaborates with application and data teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of environments.
• Troubleshoots and resolves complex database issues, providing cloud technology expertise.
