Job summary

Upbound Group, Inc. is seeking a Platform Engineer II to lead the evolution of the Internal Developer Platform, cloud infrastructure, and AI-powered engineering capabilities.

You will work across AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, and GitOps pipelines, partnering with Development, Security, Architecture, and DevEx teams to boost developer productivity and platform reliability. The role focuses on building AI-powered platform capabilities, including LLM-based automation and agent workflows, while advancing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/Engineering.
• 6+ years in Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or Software Eng.
• 2+ years building AI/LLM-powered solutions.
• Strong software engineering background with production API/services tooling.
• Proficiency in Python or Go.
• Deep expertise with AWS and/or GCP.
• Kubernetes and cloud-native infra.
• Terraform and infra automation.
• Extensive CI/CD and GitOps experience.
• Identity platforms like Keycloak/Entra ID/Auth0.
• OAuth2/OIDC/SAML/JWT/RBAC knowledge.
• Kafka or enterprise event streaming.
• AI agent/workflow design and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and management of scalable, secure platform services across AWS/GCP.
• Drive IaC adoption via Terraform modules and automation.
• Architect CI/CD pipelines with GitOps and progressive delivery.
• Design observability incl. monitoring/logging/SLOs and incident analysis.
• Mentor engineers and propagate best practices across teams.
• Develop Internal Developer Platform, APIs, SDKs, CLIs, templates and portals.
• Define platform adoption metrics (DORA, developer productivity).
• Implement enterprise identity and security platforms (Keycloak, Entra ID).
• Design and operate Kafka-based event streaming and governance.
