Qualifications

• Professional software engineering experience shipping web platform features end-to-end.
• Fluency with modern web stacks, APIs, and data modeling; comfort owning a feature from spec to production.
• Testing and QA discipline — you verify before you call it done.
• Marketplace, matching, or geospatial/ZIP-level product experience a strong plus.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build Farm2Chef features end-to-end: chef and farm directories, matching flows, bookings, and the job board
• Build the Protein Pool matching engine (households → nearest rancher, allocation math) with the Data Science team
• Own release discipline for the platform: tested changes, verified deploys, no silent breakage
• Work from real operating data — your users are our chefs, farmers, and households, and their feedback reaches you directly
• Document what you build so the next engineer (and our operators) can run it

We are hiring a Platform Engineer to build Farm2Chef's features and the Protein Pool matching engine: the software that connects farmers, chefs, and households across Harris County.
