VK Capital Ventures Inc. is hiring two Data Scientists for Travel Villa Kitchen and related ventures in Houston. The role focuses on matching, forecasting, and pricing models using household, market, and platform data.

Responsibilities include building a vendor and demand forecasting pipeline, and presenting results to founders in plain language. Requires strong Python/R, SQL, and experience with small-n data in real-world settings.

Formación

• Degree in statistics, math, computer science, or equivalent experience (master's preferred)
• Proficiency: Python/R + SQL
• Experience with messy, small-n real-world data
• Comfort presenting findings to non-technical audiences
• Nice to have: geospatial/ZIP-level work, survey data, marketplace experience
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

Responsabilidades

• Build Protein Pool matching model v1: households → nearest rancher by ZIP with allocation math
• Build the demand forecast for demos, classes, and dinners in the Data Science OS weekly snapshot
• Build placement-matching scoring for the chef placement engine to shortlist
• Co-own the written data-quality audit with analytics team
• Present findings to non-technical founders and community partners in plain language

VK Capital Ventures Inc. runs Travel Villa Kitchen — a Houston chef co-op, cooking-class and private-dinner company (plus Six Rows Coffee and Farm2Chef, our farmer-chef marketplace) — and is building the platform those businesses run on. We are Human First service practitioners: healthy communication and people who are happy and emotionally safe in service is how we work. We are hiring two Data Scientists to turn our household, market, and platform data into the models the business runs on — matching, forecasting, and pricing that hold up to grant reporting and investor diligence.

Responsibilities

• Build Protein Pool matching model v1: households → nearest rancher by ZIP with steer/half-share allocation math, validated against the Survey Research Lead's field data
• Build the demand forecast for demos, classes, and dinners (feeds staffing and BEST/MID/WORST planning) running inside the Data Science OS weekly snapshot
• Build placement-matching scoring for the chef placement engine — skills, ZIP, availability vs. buyer demand — through to a first scored shortlist
• Co-own the written data-quality audit with the analytics team
• Present findings to non-technical founders and community partners, in plain language.

Qualifications

• Degree in statistics, math, computer science, or equivalent experience (master's preferred by many employers; strong applied portfolios considered)
• Python/R + SQL fluency
• Experience with messy, small-n real-world data — not just big-tech scale
• Comfort presenting findings to non-technical audiences
• Nice to have: geospatial/ZIP-level work, survey data, food-systems or marketplace experience
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Schedule

Full-time, standard business hours; model work ships on the weekly snapshot cadence.
