Job summary

Wellmark is seeking a Platform Engineer to lead the technical designs for AI, automation, and enterprise-scale platforms across the organization. You will partner with AI Center of Excellence, architecture, security, and business leaders to drive scalable, secure, and compliant solutions.

The role emphasizes governance, stakeholder collaboration, and strategic enablement of citizen developers leveraging Microsoft 365, Power BI, and cloud data platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or direct applicable work experience.
• Minimum 7 years of experience including development and architecture.
• Minimum 4 years in IT infrastructure, architecture design, operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical designs for highly integrated platforms to optimize security, information leverage and reuse.
• Consult with architects and project teams to document design deliverables and implement solutions.
• Oversee planning, development and estimation of technical solutions; coordinate with other teams as needed.
• Collaborate with domain leaders and stakeholders to align architecture with business needs.
• Provide guidance on IT policies, security and infrastructure; ensure governance compliance.
• Mentor others; provide training and quality assurance on designs and implementations.
• Build strong relationships with the business to ensure technical designs meet needs.
