Job summary

Wellmark, Inc. seeks a Principal Architect to lead enterprise architecture across platforms, cloud modernization, and security governance. You will mentor engineers, influence executive stakeholders, and drive strategic technology decisions in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with technology teams, development of roadmaps, and governance of architecture standards, with travel up to 5% as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9 years of experience including security program controls and encryption
• Minimum 4 years of cloud architecture experience including system integration and analysis
• Expert knowledge of network protocols and enterprise network architecture
• Experience securing workloads and migrating to the public cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Experience managing CASB including SSO and encryption
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Proven ability to lead others, adapt to change and communicate with stakeholders
• Travel up to 5%.

Responsibilities

• Lead and govern enterprise architecture standards, principles and best practices.
• Lead architecture reviews and provide technical leadership across multiple engineering teams.
• Develop technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives and modernization initiatives.
• Establish reusable reference architectures, frameworks and governance processes.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and drive adoption strategies.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI for business process improvement and engineering productivity.
• Design and govern enterprise AI solutions, including responsible AI practices.
• Facilitate domain discovery and event storming workshops with business and technical stakeholders.
• Define bounded contexts, aggregates, domain services, and domain events.
