Job summary

The Boeing Company in Berkeley, CA is seeking a Platform Engineer (Experienced or Senior) to drive platform engineering, automation, and cloud modernization for mission-critical environments.

You will maintain and modernize internal tools, build systems, and automation workflows to enable reliable software delivery. Collaboration with software developers and mission systems engineers will be essential to improve productivity and reduce build bottlenecks.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain US Security Clearance; US citizenship required
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 3+ years of experience with programming in C, C++ or C#
• Experience with shell scripting in sh, csh variants, Bash, Python, and PERL
• 1+ years of experience with AWS Services (VPC, IAM, EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, etc.)
• Experience with Terraform, Jenkins, Git, Ansible, CloudFormation, etc.
• Experience with build/test tools such as BoostBuild, BoostTest, CMake, Make

Responsibilities

• Lead platform engineering efforts for mission-critical software development environments
• Maintain and refactor legacy internal tools, build scripts, and automation utilities
• Design and develop custom software tools to support workflows
• Support and improve secure, cloud-based infrastructure environments
• Architect, provision, and maintain infrastructure using IaC
• Modernize build/release processes into CI/CD workflows
• Containerize legacy applications and dependencies
• Collaborate with developers to improve local development environments
• Ensure platform stability and engineering efficiency across teams
• Resolve infrastructure and tooling issues with analytical problem-solving
• Document practices to support replication, scaling, and continuous improvement
• Provide technical leadership to junior engineers
