Job summary

Flexential Corp. is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to own automated, resilient IT platforms spanning observability, DevOps, ITSM, and integrations. You will deploy Kubernetes workloads, author Terraform modules, write Ansible playbooks, and build GitLab pipelines critical to daily operations.

This hands-on individual contributor role emphasizes ownership and impact on Flexential's tech roadmap, enabling scalable, secure platforms across data centers with AI-enabled outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in production DevOps/Automation with Kubernetes (RKE2/k3s).
• 4+ years Grafana/Mimir/Loki/Tempo configuration, tuning and dashboards in production.
• 5+ years Python/scripting for automation, exporters, REST API integrations.
• 5+ years GitLab CI/CD, Terraform and Ansible as IaC tools; ArgoCD/Flux preferred.
• 2+ years AIOps, alert rule authoring, event correlation and noise reduction.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and manage automated, resilient, high-availability platforms with native-AI capabilities for IT needs, serving internal and customer capabilities.
• Develop and manage the Observability OpenTelemetry Central Backend Stack: Grafana Enterprise, Mimir, Loki, Tempo, Alertmanager on Kubernetes/RKE2 via Helm and GitLab CI‑CD.
• Build and manage IaC and CI‑CD for automated provisioning and deployment, including Terraform modules for Infra/VM/storage, Ansible AWX playbooks, ArgoCD and Helm for Kubernetes.
• Develop OpenTelemetry exporters and dashboards for multiple device classes and cloud providers.
• Develop AIOps capabilities on platforms for observability use-cases, anomaly detection integrations, and synthetic monitoring.
• Configure and maintain Zabbix auto-discovery and Prometheus service discovery integration.
• Build and harden Edge Stack deployments per data center site using GitOps templates.
• Integrate Alertmanager with ServiceNow and implement escalation policies.
• Author Grafana dashboards and maintain JSON dashboards in GitLab.
• Mentor mid-level engineers, lead code reviews, and set engineering standards.
• Represent platform engineering in cross-functional architecture reviews and executive updates.
