Job summary

ResMed's Global Technology Solutions (GTS) is hiring a Software Engineer to build scalable, secure platforms for patients and providers. You will collaborate with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to architect, implement, and deliver on our roadmap.

You should have world-class technical skills, a developer-first mindset, and strong empathy for teammates. Expect on-call rotations, cloud-native focus, and an emphasis on reliability and observability.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with public cloud (AWS) and cloud computing concepts.
• Strong knowledge of CS fundamentals and at least one language (TypeScript, React, Java, JavaScript, Python, or Go).

• You will drive our inner sourcing/open sourcing strategy and help drive Resmed’s developer community in that direction.

• You will build and maintain the observability and reliability of our services.
• You will participate in a 24/7, follow‑the‑sun on‑call model for production incident management, including weekends and holidays.
• You will drive and implement improvements in developer tools and automation.
• You will research, design, implement, test, and document your solutions to the assigned technical problems.
• You will collaborate across the enterprise to drive consensus and understanding.

Qualifications and Experience

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with public cloud (AWS) and cloud computing concepts.
• Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals and experience with at least one programming language, such as TypeScript, React, Java, JavaScript, Python, or Go.
• Understanding of test practices regardless of language or tools.
• Basic knowledge of source control, pull requests and automated quality gates using tools such as GitHub, Bitbucket, etc.
• Passion for learning and problem‑solving.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) concepts and practices is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Experience developing and maintaining Backstage, Backstage plugins or integrations for internal developer portals.
• Experience building services using cloud native technologies, including Kubernetes, Docker, serverless, etc., is a plus
• Production experience building and operating Kubernetes clusters in public cloud is a plus.
• Experience monitoring infrastructure with tools such as Datadog, Splunk, ELK, etc.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills, with experience in on‑call rotations and incident management.
