Job summary

Workiva Inc. seeks a Principal Product Designer to lead experience strategy for the Workiva Platform. You will shape the long‑term vision at a senior design level, focusing on AI experiences, systems thinking, and workflow transformation.

You will drive a holistic design leadership approach, aligning UX with product strategy and platform architecture. The role shapes how AI, human‑in‑the‑loop interactions, and enterprise workflows evolve across the platform.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in product design, UX, or related fields, with significant work on platform or enterprise products.
• Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or a related field (or 8 years of experience and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 6 years of experience).
• Experience influencing product strategy, UX direction, and technical decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead platform UX strategy: define and drive the long-term user experience vision across the Workiva Platform.
• Shape AI experiences: envision AI-powered experiences including generative interfaces, automation, recommendations, and decision-support workflows.
• Rethink and redesign workflows to create simpler, faster, intuitive experiences across complex enterprise use cases.
• Design human-in-the-loop moments with clear, trusted interaction points in AI-enabled workflows.
• Lead discovery across ambiguous, cross-functional problems into scalable solutions.
• Establish reusable patterns and information architecture across a multi-product ecosystem.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to shape platform direction, data flows, and implementation choices.
• Advance design systems and governance to support consistency and innovation at scale.
• Mentor Lead and Senior Designers to raise craft standards and design culture.
